1. Product contents
The contents of your order depends on your choice of package. For the purposes of this product guide, we presume that you have ordered the RuToo basic package, because this comprises all of the basic elements required for electronic smoking. The RuToo basic package comprises:

• 1 atomizer
• 2 re-chargeable batteries
• 1 charger
• 1 product guide
• 5 cartridges

2. Safety information
In order to ensure that you use the RuToo electronic cigarette and related products both safety and effectively, you must ensure that you read this product guide carefully.

Using a RuToo e-cigarette
Once you have fitted a new cartridge and a charged battery into the atomizer, the RuToo electronic cigarette will be on stand-by. Vapour can then be produced by sucking on the mouthpiece (the cartridge). When the amount of vapour produced starts to reduce, you must replace the cartridge. When the LED-indicator on the end of the battery flashes continuously, this means that the battery is empty.

Using the charger
In order to recharge the battery for your RuToo e-cigarette, you must screw the threaded section of the battery into the threaded section of the charger. The charger has been developed for a voltage of AC100V-240V 50/60Hz. Do not use the charger outdoors or in humid rooms.

Transport
Take care when carrying the RuToo e-cigarette in your trouser pocket. The cigarette can become caught, resulting in malfunctions. We recommend that you use a travel case, which can be obtained from one of our points of sale or on the website www.rutoo.eu. You will also receive an empty cartridge, which you can put in when you are not using the electronic cigarette. This will prevent the liquid around the filament from solidifying.

Compatibility
Do not use parts for other brands in combination with the RuToo e-cigarette, as this can lead to damage or a malfunction. The warranty also lapses in the event of improper use.

Use in public
There is no question of passive smoking when you use the RuToo e-cigarette in public, because the vapour that is released is not harmful to those around you, nor to the environment. Furthermore, the RuToo e-cigarette does not need to be lit, meaning that it does not constitute a fire hazard. The RuToo electronic cigarette is therefore permitted in all public places, including in food and drink outlets, unless explicitly stated that the electronic cigarette is also prohibited.

Driving and smoking
In order to ensure your attention remains fixed on the traffic, we strongly advise against using the RuToo e-cigarette when driving. You may however use the in-car charger whilst driving, which recharges your cigarette whilst driving via a 12 volt adapter. This in-car charger can be obtained via our website.

Safety measures
Do not use or store your RuToo e-cigarette in a warm and/or humid environment. Keep your RuToo e-cigarette and its related parts out of the reach of children. Using the RuToo e-cigarette incorrectly can harm you. When you use the RuToo electronic cigarette, make sure that you are not inhaling more vapour than when you smoke ‘traditional’ cigarettes.

3. Product information
Operation of the RuToo electronic cigarette
The RuToo electronic cigarette incorporates advanced microelectronic technology with a highly sensitive atomization technology. This technology serves to reduce the nicotine concentration and converts the corresponding flavour into vapour.

Benefits of the RuToo electronic cigarette

• Smoking the RuToo electronic cigarette does not cause cancer, because the RuToo e-cigarette contains no tar or carbon monoxide. Moreover, the vapour released from a RuToo e-cigarette lacks 4000 other harmful substances that are released when the tobacco in a traditional cigarette burns.
• The RuToo electronic cigarette is not harmful to those around you, nor to the environment, which means that passive smoking is now a thing of the past.
• Smoking the RuToo electronic cigarette does not constitute a fire hazard.
• You are permitted to use the RuToo e-cigarette in places where a smoking prohibition applies, because the e-cigarette does not fall under the Tobacco Act.
• Using the RuToo e-cigarette is cheaper than smoking traditional cigarettes.
• Due to the absence of tar and carbon monoxide, there is less risk of developing periodontitis (inflammatory disease of the gums).
• The absence of tar also means that there is considerably less yellowing of the teeth and to walls and curtains.
• Furthermore, there is no waste in the form of ash and filters, which are harmful to the environment.

4. Structure of the RuToo e-cigarette
The body of the RuToo e-cigarette
The body of the RuToo e-cigarette is made from stainless steel with a built-in lithium ion battery. Furthermore, the RuToo e-cigarette contains a smart chip, an LED indicator, a programme controller, an atomizing chamber and a cartridge.



The cartridge for the RuToo e-cigarette
The cartridge consists of an inhalation device and a tube of liquid flavouring and nicotine. The liquid substances are not harmful to body and contain no carcinogenic substances, such as tar and carbon monoxide. The cartridge can only be used once: you cannot therefore re-use an empty cartridge. The cartridges are available in a variety of flavours, including mint and tobacco. The nicotine content is broken down into the following classes: Regular, Medium, Light and Zero, respectively 16mg, 11mg, 6mg and 0mg nicotine.



The RuToo battery and charger
The RuToo electronic cigarette makes use of a 3.7V lithium ion battery, for which a charger has been specially developed. The RuToo battery and charger cannot be used in combination with devices manufactured by third parties. The charger is suitable for use at a voltage of AC100V-240V 50/60Hz. You must bear in mind that the voltage in foreign countries may differ from the voltage of the RuToo charger.



5. Methods of use Set-up
Step 1: Take a cartridge out of the plastic packaging and remove the top.
Step 2: slide the cartridge across the body of the RuToo e-cigarette (the smooth side of the atomizer that is screwed into the battery).

Smoking When you puff on the RuToo electronic cigarette, the cigarette activates automatically and the LED indicator at the end of the cigarette lights up. When you stop smoking, the RuToo e-cigarette automatically goes into stand-by mode. It is recommended that you hold the RuToo e-cigarette in a horizontal position whilst smoking, to prevent fluid from entering your mouth. Thanks to the built-in microcomputer system, the RuToo e-cigarette has a self-cleaning function. When the user has inhaled through the RuToo e-cigarette approximately 1500 times, the LED indicator lights up for 6 seconds. This means that the cigarette is cleaning itself completely.

Replacing the RuToo battery
When the LED-indicator at the end of the RuToo e-cigarette flashes 20 times, this means that the battery is flat and needs to be replaced.

Replacing the RuToo cartridge
When the density of the vapour produced when puffing on the RuToo electronic cigarette decreases, you must replace the cartridge.



Charging instructions
When the LED indicator at the end of your RuToo e-cigarette flashes continuously, this means you need to charge the cigarette. In order to recharge your battery, unscrew the atomizer with fitted cartridge from the battery. Then screw the battery into the charger. After 3 to 4 hours, the LED indicator on the charger will change from red to green, which means that your battery is charged again. Note! Make sure that the battery is properly screwed in before connecting the charger to the mains supply. If you do not do this, the LED indicator on the charger cannot show whether the battery is empty or full.



6. Warnings

• Do not charge the battery in close proximity to sources of heat with high temperatures.
• Do not use the battery if hot or leaking.
• The charger must only be used to charge the RuToo e-cigarette.
• Keep the RuToo e-cigarette and accessories out of the reach of children.
• Smoking whilst driving and at times when a high degree of concentration is required, can cause accidents.
• Use of the RuToo electronic cigarette is at your own personal risk.
• The RuToo e-cigarette must be charged for 8 hours prior to first use. Thereafter, recharging an empty cigarette takes just 3-4 hours.
• The nicotine must not be removed from the cartridge and must not be ingested by mouth.
• The RuToo e-cigarette is a technically advanced product. Ensure that the product does not become caught and do not expose to moisture.
• When you take 15 puffs in succession too quickly, the LED indicator will flash for 15 seconds and the RuToo e-cigarette will freeze temporarily. This prevents so-called ‘chain smoking’.
• The RuToo e-cigarette only works with parts manufactured by RuToo. The warranty lapses in the event of improper use.

7. Suitability
For whom is the product intended?
People who, after years of smoking, have become accustomed to smoking cigarettes, and people who work on a site where a smoking ban is in place, who cannot go for long without a cigarette. If you are unsure whether this product is suitable for you, please consult your GP prior to use.

For whom is the product not intended?
Keep the product out of the reach of children. The cartridges contain nicotine and can cause harm when taken orally. Furthermore, nicotine has a harmful effect on the heart and blood vessels. We seriously advise the following groups of people against using nicotine:

• People who suffer from heart conditions
• People who suffer from high blood pressure
• People who have not previously smoked
• Pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding
• People who are allergic to nicotine or one of the other ingredients in the cartridge
• People under the age of 16 years
• We expressly advise people suffering from illnesses not mentioned here to consult their GP to rule out all of the risks of using the RuToo e-cigarette.
